Don White with The Loomers
“Mark Twain meets Woody Guthrie… Woody Guthrie meets George Carlin…” - Ed Stivendor
There is no one-word description for what Don White does. He is a storyteller-comedian-author-troubadour-folk singer-songwriter. He is a walking challenge to the phrase “file under.” Best to just sort him under “Don White.”
“If William Blake saw the universe in a grain of sand, Don White sees it in a squeaking door or Marshmallow Fluff.” - Bill Harley
For more than twenty years, he has been bringing his audiences to laughter and tears in his live performances, studio recordings, and on the printed page.
“No artist on the circuit today is better than Don White at combining the heartfelt aesthetics of the singer-songwriter with side-splitting laughs.” - Scott Alarik, The Boston Globe
In addition to being Don’s longtime backing band, The Loomers have performed at venues such as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Fenway Park, The House of Blues, and Club Passim. Their songs are infused with the classic sounds of driving rock, heartland folk, rock & soul, and retro-1980s pop –– filled with the joys, hopes, sorrows and wonder of growing older. They've released five albums and their songs have been played on CBS, Cinemax, MTV, NBC, & PBS.
